A different perspective….

A penny will hide the biggest star in the Universe if you hold it close enough to your eye.

~ Samuel Grafton

It is all about perspective.  Everything can look very different – depending on your perspective.  What if we could change our perspective by changing how we think.

When going through tough times I find myself trying to figure it all out – and I ask myself many questions – such as why is this happening, what should I have done different, how can I understand this, and the questions can easily go on.

What if I looked at it from a different point of view – what if I asked different questions – maybe a different perspective just might change things.

Here are a few good questions:

Instead of  “why did this door close?” – ask “what door is about to open?”

Instead of “What will I do now?” – ask “What can I do now?”

Instead of “How could they disrespect me” – ask “why would they not want my respect?”

Instead of “How will I cope?” – ask “How will this help me grow?”

All of these questions slightly change the perspective – but it opens a whole new world of thinking.

Here are some more good thoughts that change the perspective when going through a tough time:

Every exit is an entrance somewhere else.

The answer to my prayer is just over the next hill.

I need this experience to help me prepare for something very important in my life.

The many lessons learned through this will be real life examples to share with others.

Timing is so important – the right time is just ahead.

It is amazing how changing the way we view any situation can change the way we emotionally react.  We can see the glass half empty or half full.  We can choose to take a victim stance or we can be empowered to move forward.

Choose to change your perspective – it could make the difference in your day – and your life!

At high tide the fish eat ants; at low tide the ants eat fish. ~Thai Proverb
