I’m working on my garden today – long overdue – but better late than never.  Usually I like to have all my pots planted on the long May weekend – we are about a month late – for many reasons – however, as I said – better late than never.

I usually plant pink impatience and geraniums with purple accents – and it will be no different this year.  Pictures to come when I am finished!

I have been very drawn to the colour purple and love the smell of lavender!  There is just something so english about it and although I have not planted it in my garden – there just may come a day!  Look at this beautiful house with touches of lavender!

Just a little purple inspiration for you today!  Beautiful lavender!

Let It Go

Let it go …

There are people who can walk away from you.
And hear me when I tell you this!
When people can walk away from you: let them walk.
I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you,
loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you,
staying attached to you.
I mean hang up the phone.
When people can walk away from you let them walk.
Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.
People leave you because they are not joined to you.
And if they are not joined to you,
you can’t make them stay.
Let them go.
And it doesn’t mean that they are a bad person,
it just means that their part in the story is over.
And you’ve got to know when people’s
part in your story is over so that you
don’t keep trying to raise the dead.
You’ve got to know when it’s dead.
You’ve got to know when it’s over.
Let me tell you something.
I’ve got the gift of good-bye.
It’s the tenth spiritual gift,
I believe in good-bye.
It’s not that I’m hateful, it’s that I’m faithful,
and I know whatever God means for me to have
He’ll give it to me.
And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it.
Stop begging people to stay.
Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something
that doesn’t belong to you and was never intended for your life,
then you need to LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to past hurts and pains ..
If someone can’t treat you right, love you back, and see your worth…
If someone has angered you …
If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge ..
If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction
If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or
talents ..
If you have a bad attitude…
If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better…
If you’re stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new
level in Him…
If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship….
If you keep trying to help someone who won’t even try to help
If you’re feeling depressed and stressed ….
If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling
yourself and God is saying “take your hands off of it,” then you need to…
Let the past be the past.
Forget the former things.
GOD is doing a new thing for you   !!!
Get Right or Get Left . think about it, and then
“The Battle is the Lord’s!”

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

J.R.R. Tolkien

I have been thinking a lot about the big picture lately.  Perhaps that is what happens when you reach your late 40’s early 50’s.  You reflect on where you have been and where you are going – what contribution you are making to the world – and what are the important things in your life.  There is a reality check that takes place when you realize that you have less time ahead then you do behind you – and that the years are  moving swiftly by.  Time becomes a precious commodity –  priorities become clearer – and treasured relationships become valued for the richness they bring.  Deeply rooted values that have guided decisions along the way become a much stronger leader in the journey.

The years have brought much joy as well as much pain and loss – as we all experience in life – some to a greater extent than others – and although there are many things that become easier as we grow older, there are many things that are more difficult as well.  The journey of life is a path which should you choose to learn along the way can be a rich library of wisdom and understanding.  It very much depends on attitude.  We face continual resistance as we move forward, especially if we attempt to take on great dreams – but resistance is necessisary to give lift – overcome the resistance and we can soar.

I try and remember each day that “all that is gold does not glitter”.   Sometimes gold can be  solid character with strong beliefs in justice, truth and love – not very glamorous perhaps – but precious gold and highly valuable.

I tell my self that “not all those who wander are lost”.  When I find myself wandering in thought, in feeling, and in path – sometimes it is the creative road that must be taken to find our way forward in our own journey.

“The old that is strong does not wither,  Deep roots are not reached by the frost”

“From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring”

Joy can be found in all of life – not always in every moment , but certainly after the weeping subsides – and then in looking back, there is joy in the weeping – as it brings a deeper rooted understanding of the importance of values and the importance of dependence on a greater sovereignty.  God is faithful to bring beauty out of ashes, and light to the shadows.

Learning to live each day trusting in a sovereign God gives me peace and my prayer is as stated below:

Lord, give me the strength to greet the coming day in peace.

Help me in all things to rely on Your Holy will.

Reveal Your will to me every hour of the day.

Bless my dealings with all people.

Teach me to treat all people who come to me throughout the day with peace of soul and with firm conviction that Your will governs all.

In all my deeds and words guide my thoughts and feelings.

In unexpected events, let me not forget that all are sent by You.

Teach me to act firmly and wisely without embittering and embarrassing others.

Give me the physical strength to bear the labors of this day. Direct my will. Teach me to pray. Pray in me.
